Road, trail closure required for construction near McDonald Pass Forest Service Trail 1897

Helena, Mont. – July 11, 2022 – The U.S. Forest Service road near Trail 1897 and the communication towers on McDonald Pass will be closed July 11 -29. The main trail will also be closed.
NorthWestern Energy is installing a new underground electric line and the road and trail closure is for the safety of the public. The project will improve service reliability for NorthWestern Energy customers.
Recreationalists can access to the cross country ski paths in the area during construction.
The public must stay away from the construction site and be aware of heavy machinery, equipment and increased construction vehicle traffic in the area for safety.
