NorthWestern Energy donates $2,000 to Big Sky Senior Services

Date: Mar 26, 2025

TYPE: News

Billings, Mont. –March 26, 2025 – NorthWestern Energy is proud to announce a donation of $2,000 to Big Sky Senior Services, an organization dedicated to promoting independence, enhancing the quality of life for seniors, and preventing elder abuse.

Big Sky Senior Services, which recently merged with Adult Resource Alliance of Yellowstone County, was designated as the recipient of funds raised at NorthWestern Energy’s Billings Spring Home Improvement Show by attendees who played our free pop-a-shot basketball game to “Make a Basket, Make a Difference.” Every basket made earned $1 for Big Sky Services.

Lisa Perry, recently retired Northwestern Energy Community Relations Manager and long-time board member for Big Sky Senior Services, designated the organization to receive this year’s Make a Basket Make a Difference proceeds.

"We are so thankful for the hard work of past board members like Lisa Perry, who have helped us connect so many great leaders to support our work of helping the most vulnerable seniors remain independent,” said Big Sky Senior Services Executive Director Tyler Amundson.

The merger with Adult Resource Alliance of Yellowstone County will streamline services and offer even greater support to the growing number of older adults in the region, creating a single point of access that ensures seniors get the help they need without unnecessary barriers.

“Thanks to NorthWestern Energy’s support, we can: expand in-home services to help seniors stay safely in their homes longer; strengthen programs that reduce social isolation and increase well-being; and improve access to nutritious meals and wellness resources for vulnerable seniors,” Amundson said.
